Nothing kills a good terminal buzz quite like:

git: 'sy' is not a git command. See 'git --help'.

In an evermore auto-corrected world I find myself mis-typing terminal commands more and more every day. When Jared posted Time-Saving TextExpander Snippets for Xcode, I quickly realized how stupid it was that I haven't tried this before. TextExpander has always been a tool that I loved but until recently I have never tapped into it's full potential.

Here is my list of TextExpander snippets for Terminal/Git:

home
cd ~
You may say that there is more typing included in "home" but frankly it's easier to remember and type than any command with a ~ in it.

ginit
git init

gga
git add -A

ggst
git st

ggc
git commit -m "%|"
The %| places the cursor between the quotation marks so that you can get to commenting straight away.

ggp
git pull origin master

ggsh
git push origin master

ggbr
git branch

podi
pod install

fpods
sudo gem install cocoapods
If you use cocoapods then I don't need to explain this snippet.

So the trick here is to take this and run with it. Use these as a starting point, you need to build your own list of snippets so that you won't hesitate to use them. If you don't remember your shortcuts then it defeats the point.
